The main character of the show is a short rat named Ricky who tries to commit the greatest evil, but never strikes fear into the hearts of anyone. He has a speech impediment that forces him to enunciate every "r" and "l" as a "w." Some of the rat folk think this fact makes him cute, but Ricky vehemently rejects that notion. He has a younger brother named Alfred and a hopeless romance for a girl named Mary. Ricky would do anything to win her heart, yet his love is never reciprocated.
